Rehabilitation Pilates
Pilates is often recommended by Physiotherapists and health professionals as it is a safe form of body conditioning that can be modified to suit everybody, even people with injuries or pain.
Back pain is probably the most common reason people decide to take up Pilates – and when taught properly by a well-trained instructor who understands what exercises are beneficial and which ones to avoid, is both safe and often highly effective. |
We have many clients who have had surgery, commonly hip and knee replacements, or are recovering from illness or injury. All the exercises can be adapted to suit the client and progressed accordingly. People often start off in a rehabilitation class and as they recover move into the less specialist classes as they get stronger and fitter and are able to cope with more challenging exercises.
We also have clients who don't have specific injuries or problems but are aware that as they are ageing their mobility and balance are deteriorating, and they come to the rehabilitation classes as a gentle form of exercise they can manage and enjoy. |
