ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS

Benefits of a One-to-One Session

Picture

Who is it for?

A private one-to-one session
can be arranged for every type of client,
at every level.
  • For people new to Pilates wanting to be taught the basics before joining a class.
  • Sometimes clients with physical issues such as injuries or post-surgery or illness want a pilates program designed specifically for them.
  • Some clients just prefer not to exercise in a class and like the focus a regular one-to-one gives them.
  • Julie Ladd (Chartered Physiotherapist) offers one-to-one sessions using the amazing Pilates equipment – the Reformer and Cadillac –  which is a versatile piece of equipment utilising spring resistance that allows the Pilates repertoire to be modified, both to help the client who struggles with the exercises or the athlete needing to be challenged. Sessions last an hour and take place in Julie's dedicated Pilates Studio in Hanley Swan.
  • Clients range from people with hip or knee replacements, people with Parkinson's disease or MS through to high level athletes such as cyclists and professional rugby players.

How many sessions will I need?

Thats up to you! Some people need one or two private sessions as an introduction to Pilates before joining a class.

Some come regularly - once a week or more in some cases, working on physical issues they have or for general body conditioning to enhance sports performance and
injury prevention.

Some clients like to come monthly alongside attending regular classes, as a way of checking that they are performing the exercises correctly and therefore getting the maximum benefit from them.

What will we cover?

An initial private session usually starts with some questions around any injuries and health issues, as well as a discussion about what you want from the sessions so that we can tailor the programme to suit you.

Depending on how regularly you have a session, we may provide a home programme of exercises to complement the areas we are working on – maybe on
flexibility, stability or co-ordination.

How to book and Charges

A private one-to-one session with Julie Ladd (Chartered Physiotherapist) at her clinic in Hanley Swan costs £60.00.

A session lasts about an hour and may involve using the Pilates Reformer and Cadilac machines where appropriate.

Some of the other Pilates-therapy Instructors also offer one-to-one sessions and charges vary.
If joining a class mid-way through a course the most appropriate one-to-one is often with the instructor of that class so they have a good understanding of where you are physically when you join.
