PILATES FOR EVERYONE

Pilates Therapy for everyone

Pilates is a highly versatile form of body conditioning that can be adapted to suit everyone.
It is a refreshing mind-body workout that emphasises proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and smooth, flowing movement so that you become atuned with how your body moves and feels.

Quality of movement, not quantity, is key. Pilates elongates and strengthens your body, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A body balanced with strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured or suffer pain.

Pilates exercises train several muscle groups at once in smooth, continuous movements. With proper technique you can train your body to move in safer, more efficient patterns of motion – invaluable for injury recovery, good posture and optimal health.

We work on Balance and co-ordination in standing, but many of the exercises are performed lying, sitting or kneeling on a mat and so are low impact and partially weight-bearing making them safe and gentle – but it can also become challenging as you increase the intensity of the workout as your body conditioning improves!

We offer a range of classes from beginners and improvers, intermediate and advanced so that everyone can access a suitable class depending on your fitness levels and experience.

"Even after the first session I felt straighter and taller. I always feel I have to work very hard but afterwards I feel so much better. At 67 I think that Pilates is just as beneficial for me as for a 25 year old – possibly more so."
